{Birthday spray of flowers}

Much as I love making layered and somewhat complicated cards, there's something really satisfying about combining some images onto a flat piece of card stock to make something  quite lovely.

The leaves (What I Love stamps stet) were stamped with Watermelon Wonder onto the same colour cardstock, with flowers from the Birthday Blooms stampset.  I then used the splatters from Awesomely Artistic in Tip Top Taupe to finish it off.

{Four cards, four colours and one Stamp Set}

Set myself a challenge to really push the boundaries of the What I Love stamps.  They're free with a qualifying purchase in Saleabration 2016.  By using only four colours (Archival Black, Melon Mambo, Old Olive and Crumb Cake) I came up with these.

Here is the video tutorial

{Birthday Blooms and white Craft Ink}

Had a wonderful play with this stamp set.
I embossed with black powder onto Basic Black card.  Then squeezed out some White Craft reinker onto an acrylic block then used a sponge to rub the ink onto the image.  I then got a paintbrush and painted with various reinker inks.  The result is very subtle, but quite lovely.

{Rambling and 'scoping}

Hi everyone, I hope you had a good weekend.

I've been playing with my new phone and a new app - Periscope.  It's an app that allows me to stream live videos to anyone who has the app.  Of course this limits the amount of viewers, however I have also discovered I can upload the videos to YouTube, which is more accessible.  The quality isn't as great, so I think I'll limit what I share on YouTube to my weekend rambles.

Below is my Sunday ramble, please let me know what you think, and if you have the app, search for Ruth Trice or Artful Stampin, and you'll find me!

{Correction alert}

Hi there,
I have just realised that in my Paper Share article I made a mistake.  When I said how much all the papers would cost if you purchased them I wrote £120.50 instead of £81.50.  Of course you would still be saving buying them as a share.  My sincerest apologies for that mistake, it has now been corrected.

{One Sheet Wonder Wednesday no 21} Batik style

Hi there artful stampers!

I've decided to do One Sheet Wonder Wednesdays once a month for 2016.  I know some of you really enjoyed them, however I wanted to film some other types of tutorials too.

Here is the video, you'll have to turn the sound up a bit as the audio didn't work so well.  I've been experimenting with editing my video and adding an audio over the top.  After hours of playing with my new mic, then my computer making funny sounds, I ended up recording the audio on a laptop - it wasn't as clear as I hoped.  I'll keep trying, as I really would like to make slicker videos for your enjoyment.

I have re-recorded the audio, enjoy x

New Catalogue and Paper Share

I'm so pleased to be able to share the new catalogue online now

It is jam packed full of some beautifully designed and co-ordinated products.

I'll be using lots in classes  and videos over the next few months.

The next announcement I have is that I'm going to be offering a Paper Share.
It's a great way to see, touch and play with a new collection.

Basically if you were to purchase every paper collection in the new catalogue it would cost you £81.50 with postage, so how about having a fourth of everything and it only costing £23.95 including postage and packaging.  Some of the papers will come 12x12, and some will be cut to 6x12. (If you live locally and pick up then the total will be £21.25)

As I am not allowed to hold stock of current Stampin' Up! products, every time 4 people pay me for a paper share I will be able to place an order for the papers.  Feel free to order any other products at the same time too as I can post it all together, please contact me directly if you wish to do this.

If you don't live near me and are unable to pay by direct transfer, please use Paypal button below.

If you live in France, Germany, Holland or Austria, the cost of the paper share including postage is £27.95, please use the button below for that option.

Here is a video of the papers for you...

{Monthly Challenge - Stack of Thank Yous}

Hi everyone,  I'm really excited to announce a new venture across all my Artful Stampin Social Media.

It's a monthly challenge!  I'll set a theme each month, and all participants will be entered into a draw, this month the prize is the 5 samples I have made.

  • The idea is to keep the technique simple and easily repeatable so you can make a few in a short space of time.
  • Whatever you make will have to contain at least one Stampin' Up! product to be entered in the draw.

You can enter in several ways... either
Put a picture on your blog and then paste the link to the post in the comments below
or
Post a picture on Facebook and in the description put "Artful Stampin January Challenge"
or
Post a picture on Instagram with the hash tag "artfulstampinchallenge"
or
Email me a picture of what you create to paperandpearls @ talktalk.net

You have until midnight (GMT) on the 31st January to enter.  By entering you give me permission to show your pictures on my blog to inspire others.

Fellow Stampin' Up! demonstrators are welcome to join in, however, please be courteous and let me know as I won't be entering your name for the draw.

Now below is a picture of the cards I made, to know how I make each month's challenge cards, please sign up to my newsletter here.

Here is one of my fellow team member's interpretation of the challenge...

And as it's January, it means there is a new Hostess code.  If you've never used one before, here's the deal.  When you place an online order under £150, please use the code and remember DO NOT TICK the NO CONTACT box, if you do I can NOT send you a free gift next month - which I really wold like to do to say thank you for shopping with me.

Please place any online orders using the following hostess code
